Teacher of the Year

My mom was given the Teacher of the Year award for La Habra City School District this year!!!

I'm so proud of her and all her hard work.  She started in the district teaching music part time at the 3-5 schools.  She now teaches full time in the district.  She spends her mornings at the 3-5 schools and then teaches a 7th/8th grade choir class, a 6th grade choral elective and a piano lab at the middle school.  Just for fun, she also started a ukulele club at the middle school.  Each year, she puts on an invitational where several other middle school choirs come and perform for each other.  Her choir also raises funds and participates in Disney Magic Music Days every year.

I could go on and on about all the amazing things she does with music in her district and that wouldn't even begin to touch all that she does with the Southern California Childrens Chorus, in mentoring student teachers from Cal State Fullerton, in her church service, and most especially for her family.  Love ya Mom!!!
