Unicorn Party!!

Saturday, we celebrated Lizzie's 5th birthday with a unicorn themed party at the park. Grandma B and Grandpa Bob came down for the big event. She had some friends from school and some friends from church as well. The kids decorated friendship bracelets with fabric markers, ate pizza and watermelon. Then we played "Pin the Horn on the Unicorn" and "Unicorn Treasure Race."
She told me that her favorite part was opening presents. Her friends were all so excited to watch, they were almost on top of her! But they all had fun. She got some books, a Tinkerbell tea set, play-doh and some new clothes. We also got her a little stuffed unicorn (which she LOVES) and the Magic School Bus DVD.
There was too much wind to light the candles, but she was a good sport and pretended too blow them out. Her awesome unicorn cake was made by her Auntie Mary and it was delicious!
By the end of the party, she was a little worn out. When one of her birthday balloons flew away, it was more than the birthday girl could bear.
When we got home, Nana, Papa, Nina and Charlotte were waiting for us. They had missed but the party, but were able to stay and play for a little while. Lizzie loved getting to see her cousins. Auntie Mary made the awesome headband and embellished the dress. Lizzie couldn't wait to try it all on and loved it!
We spent the rest of the afternoon taking it easy and recovering from the party. But Lizzie had fun and that was the most important part. Happy Birthday Lizzie!!!
