Miriam's Monster Mash!

We had Mimi's party on Saturday afternoon.  She wanted a 'monster' themed party.  We made the invitations during fall break and invited a few friends from school, and the neighborhood.  Grandma B, Grandpa Bob and Auntie Jules came up for the party too!
One of her presents this year was that we rented a bounce house.  A friend of my owned a party business and gave us a great deal!  Lunch was pizza, 'monster mouths', kettle corn, veggies and dip.  The kids ate and played while everyone arrived.
The bounce house was great; as we cleaned up from one thing and set up for the next, the kids would go bounce.  When they were tired, we had the next activity ready to go.  We did a monster craft.  (The kids jumped.)  Then we played the spider toss game.  (Then the kids jumped some more.)
We did a 'mummy' relay where they had to wrap their partner in crepe paper and then hop across the yard and back.  It was pretty much hilarious.
We let the birthday girl open her presents.  The boys only stuck around long enough to watch her open the present from them, but the girls watched the whole thing.  She received a lot of lovely gifts from her friends and family.

The kids decorated 'monster' cupcakes.  (Kind of like the cakes we made a few weeks ago.)  I had made a few for inspiration too.  Then we sang Happy Birthday and she attempted to blow out her candles before the wind did.
