Kids' Safety Fair
Today we went to the Oxnard City "Kids' Safety Fair". A Scout in our ward helped put it on as part of his Eagle project. The whole event was free and there were lots of things to do. We also had the Springer girls with us. There was an ambulance and fire truck there for the kids to climb up in.

There was a Red Cross booth with safety info for our area (tsunami, CERT training, etc.) Chik-fil-a also had a booth. The kids answered a safety question and got to spin their wheel of prizes. We got coupons for a free drink, a free dessert and a pencil! The kids got to do a little cake walk and jump in the bounce house too.
After the bounce house, we waited in line for the little wagon train! It went around the fair twice and they thought it was the greatest thing ever. Everything we did, they wanted to do it again. (Oh, and that's the ocean right behind them!)
They also had games and an arts and crafts section. This kept the girls entertained for quite awhile. They played games for awhile and also made little bracelets. Rachel was good in her stroller. Anytime she got fussy from us not moving, I would just put her on the grass and she thought that was great fun.

After all that fun stuff, we headed over to the pavilion for our hot dog lunch (did I mention this was all free?!?) After lunch, the girls all played at our favorite pirate park. Then we took everyone home for some quiet time. It was a great activity. They had a good turn out, but it was never too crowded. We didn't even get to all the booths. They had face-painting, balloons, dog safety, and a fun truck race game.

What a perfect way to babysit three extra kids. . . at a fun public event that's free with free food!! That's a cute little mob of girls. Tell Ann, I hope she's feeling better and so glad she didn't start hurting until AFTER Dancing with the Stars. I'm so glad everyone has their priorities in place :-)
